Audio Recording

In class we have been learning on working with audio and using an audio mixer to change the decibels of different sound clips. When I was messing around with the mixer I noticed that the higher the decibels the more static is put into the clip which makes the audio louder and more clear. So if we had a sound clip that was too quiet we could increase electricty which would make the clip more easier to hear. This also works vice versa if the clip is too loud we can decrease the electricity which will quiet down the film and make it more clear. The actual audio itself can not be changed so if someone missed a word in a clip you would not be able to add it in. The optimal level is 0 dbs it sounds the most clear to me and with little electricity it is not as grainy.

Critique Reflection

My Film Reflection: My film has many aspects that can be changed or improved, but I did do well with timing and preparation. We were always ahead of the class and had a clear idea of our goal from the beginning. A well put together story board gave us the ability to get on task quick and get a lot of clips out of the way. My classmates said our story and film techniques to portray the film was very well put together and different film techniques helped to captivate the audience/classmates. Some things that I could work on as an individual would be keeping the camera steady for the clips so it looks more profession. As a group we should've looked over the clips more carefully to make sure they are all perfect. My strengths would start with my preparation which leads into me creating a well thought out film and including different shot types and angles to enhance the film. The weaknesses would have to be not using as many effects as I could, but also not double checking each clip which left us with some really good clips and not so good clips. Moving ahead I will continue to be prepared and have a clear idea to begin the film with. Also I will work on double checking the clips and slowing down when making films so we have perfect clips to use.

In the Post-War Film era Hollywood was cooperating with government to provide morally right and mood boosting entertainment with depictions of the American way of life. During this time Films weren't making enough profit so most movies became low budget and provide thought provoking content. Some moves around this time Henry Hathaway's Kiss of Death, 1947 this film had a dark interpretation of contemporary American reality are very unique. Anatole Litvak's The Snake Pit, 1948 this was a movie about criminial cases, another movie is The Lady from Shanghai, 1947.

Critique Reflection

Critique Reflection

Some of the comments I received on my chase film all varied from talking about my Strengths in how smooth and clean my cuts and transition shots are and some critique which could be working on some better film skills while working on the project so the film looks more professional.

In my opinion I feel as if my best part of the film would be the smooth transitions from clip to clip.

My classmates thought that many of the different film techniques like the shot of the feet moving down the hallway was well preformed.

I need to improve on learning more editing techniques to make the film more fun and exciting.

Some of my classmates suggested I work on keeping the camera steady while taking shots, because sometimes it was a little shaky. They also suggested to keep certain shots shorter.

I have learned how to effectively make smooth transitions from clip to clip. I struggle with knowing a lot of editing techniques which makes my videos not as entertaining as they could be. In the future I hope to learn more editing techniques to enhance my film while also improving my film skills to make smoother clips

Film makers use camera movements to give different feelings to the audience with different types of angles and shots. Different angles in films give the audience different feelings of emotion such as an extreme close up which makes the viewer very interested. I think we can improve on making the camera more fluid and not as jerky, but we definitely had a good plan before we started this project which was a plus.
